Why are we called Winzera Celeste?

The name Winzera Celeste is a family name spanning back generations to the 1850’s, with the original John Zera. Celeste’s mother is the youngest of 4 daughters, who all had names beginning with W. When her grandparents had her mother, they ran out of W names, so they put a W on the front of John Zera and came up with Winzera. When Celeste was born, her mother decided to pass the name down, because if a man can name his son after himself then a woman should be able to as well. #GirlPower!

Growing up, sharing the same name as her mother could get confusing at times so she started going by just her middle name, Celeste. In 2015 when the original Winzera lost her battle against breast cancer, Celeste decided to embrace their shared name. Including the family name in the name of her business is one of the ways Celeste has chosen to honor her mother and ancestors, without whom she wouldn’t be the tenacious, determined, and strong woman she is today.
